Write regularly, whether you feel like writing or not, and whether you think what you’re writing is any good or not.
Give yourself short assignments. Keep it manageable so you don’t get overwhelmed.
Write shitty first drafts. Don’t expect a piece of writing to flow perfectly out of your fingers on the first go.
Let the Polaroid develop; in other words, observe, watch, listen, stay in the moment, until you understand what you want to write about.
Know your characters.
Let the plot grow out of the characters.

The Pixipan concept for subeta that never made it past the working stage uvu They were based on the Pandapixi plushies Mythica (oldschool subetians will know who’s this fabulous artist I’m talking about) had designed, because, let’s face it, those plushies were raw genius.

I went through my old files and found one named bumblebee.sai in a random folder and I didn’t know when the hell I would’ve ever drawn a bumblebee… so I opened it and it was one of the concept sketches I had done when subeta decided they wanted a bee pet!
